Helping the students to develop literacy in the Industrial Arts is very important. For example making sure students are able to distinguish the different types of woods, different weld faults, etc is a big part of the curriculum. The next few photos are things that could be hung around the shop.
5) Students who are taking wood working will need to be able to identify different types of wood just by looking at its physical appearance. Having a chart like this or similar to it would be helpful for the students. It would also help them when planning for projects so they would get an idea of what color it would end up being.
